Object of the Month:  Medals awarded to Sergeant Alfred Gutteridge

On Saturday 18 July the Thames Valley branch of the Orders and Medals Research Society are exhibiting a selection of First World War medals at the Museum. Our object of the month for July is a group of medals awarded to a local man, Sergeant Alfred Gutteridge.

Object of the Month: A hoard of gold coins found in Reading

Our object of the month for June takes us back to a time of conflict in the 17th century when the King, Charles I, and Parliament were at war. These gold coins and copper alloy counter are currently on display in our Reading at War exhibition.
