ROMAN FLAGON FROM SILCHESTER

This complete Roman flagon probably dates to the lst century A.D. Having lain for almost 2000 years in a rubbish pit at the Roman site of Silchester, south of Reading, it was found during excavations between 1890 - 1909. It forms part of the collection of finds from Silchester cared for by Reading Museum Service.
