Down Memory Lane

A reminiscence session in the Window Gallery

A reminiscence session in the Window Gallery

Reading Museum has created an exciting new session for groups of older people. Our innovative sessions called ‘Down Memory Lane’ offer visitors the opportunity to chat and reminisce.

Members of visiting groups have the opportunity to handle genuine museum objects and take a short tour of a gallery. These are based around two different themes: ‘Our Younger Days’ and ‘Old Reading’. The visitors can explore objects and revive their memories. Before long the groups are happily discussing the good old days!

These sessions are led by our trained volunteers who have received training from the Museum both on handling museum objects and leading small groups.

The tours need to be booked in advance and cost £20. For further information or to book please contact Reading Museum on 0118 937 3400 or email us.
