Conclusion: 72% (18) of 25 teachers entered the loans into a scheme of
work. While 39% (7) of 18 teachers entered them half a term ahead of use; 28% (5) entered
them one term ahead; and 33% (6) entered them into the scheme of work one year ahead of
time.
Understanding of the planning processes of schools will enable RMS to best utilise the
marketing and processes of school bookings - particularly electronic booking which is
convenient for long term planning.
Summary of findings:
25 teachers were asked this question. These are their responses.
- · 72% (18) of the teachers entered the loans into their scheme of work. While 28% (7)
of the teachers did not enter the loans into a scheme of work. This group was made up of 3
user schools and 4 non-user schools. Half of the non-user schools were in this category as
they were not used to ordering the loans.
- · Of the 72% (18) of the teachers who did enter the loans into a scheme of work:
28% (7) entered them in half a term ahead: 6 user schools and 1 non-user school
20% (5) entered them one term ahead: 3 user schools and 2 non-user schools
24% (6) entered them/will enter them one year ahead: 3 user schools and 3 non-user
schools. In the case of the non-user schools, they planned for the use of their own
artefacts (2) or had planned to use the same artefacts already in a year from now (1).
All schools were given a letter a year before the project started and a choice of loans at
least one term ahead of time.

We plan around our themes - often more than one, and plan a year ahead of time. We
would like to send our programme to the museum for a list of suggestions for each topic.
Would this be OK?

work - drop it into the 1930's, for instance - it depends on whether we will know what we
are going to have.
