Investing in Volunteers at Reading Museum

Cllr Marian Livingston with volunteers in the Window Gallery
Reading Museum & Town Hall has achieved Volunteering England’s Investing in Volunteers standard. This is the UK quality standard for all organisations involving volunteers. The award is a demonstration of the organisation's commitment to provide the best environment possible for volunteering and we are proud to be recognised for our achievements.
Volunteering England assessed our procedures and interviewed staff and volunteers to find out whether we met their standards, and last week we received our certificates and a plaque to be displayed in the entrance foyer. On Friday we held a tea party in Palmers Cafe to celebrate this achievement, attended by volunteers, the volunteer co-ordinator and Museum Manager, and Lead Councillor for Culture and Sport, Marian Livingston.
