The Museum of Reading is located in The Town Hall in the centre of Reading. The Riverside Museum at Blake’s Lock is picturesquely situated on the banks of the River Kennet.
The hands-on galleries at the Museum of Reading display a fascinating range
of objects. The galleries are housed in Reading's Town Hall, a fine example of
Victorian gothic architecture.
The galleries are accessible to all and full facilities are provided for
disabled users. A parent and baby room is available. There is tactile signage
throughout the building and each gallery has its own icon to help you find your
way around the Museum.

Situated at Blake's Lock and occupying two former industrial buildings, the
Riverside Museum tells the story of Reading's two rivers - the Kennet and the
Thames.
The Screen House displays the gypsy caravan, a video about gypsy life and a
medieval mill wheel found when The Oracle was built (a hands-on interactive
shows how the mill wheel worked). The Turbine House is a unique building that
spans the Kennet with waterside views of the town centre, housing preserved
turbine machinery and occasional summertime art exhibitions and events.
