Venue: Reading Museum
What: Demonstration of Spinning Wool in the Medieval Period
The Berkshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers will be demonstrating the spinning skills of the medieval ages, a period where people were very reliant on wool for clothing. Learn about the kinds of wool used and the techniques used to produce cloth.
We are delighted to have been invited by Reading Museum to participate in their medieval programme of events and will be demonstrating some of these traditional crafts in the Window Gallery.
There is no need to book, just come and see us, chat with our friendly and knowledgeable members, have a look at our interesting and varied display of fibre related items and pieces of work or maybe even try your hand at drop spindling.
If you would like to know more about the Guild please visit our website www.bswd.org.uk or email us at berks.guild@gmail.com - we would love to hear from you.
