Venue: Reading Museum
What: Stone Carving Workshop
Be an artisan stone carver for a day with former University of Reading sculptor in residence McAlistair Hood, and produce your own stone gargoyle or decorated capital. Learn about life as a 12th century stone mason, gain the skill to create miraculous form out of stone and go on to produce a limestone carving that could perhaps have stared down upon Reading Abbey worshippers from the vaulted ceilings above. All materials and equipment are provided, no previous experience or artistic skill necessary!
