Medieval Poetry Workshop: Hunts, Feasts, Battles and Storms

Venue: Reading Museum

What:

Join two acclaimed poets and tutors, Adrian Blamires and Lesley Saunders, for a follow-up workshop exploring the poetry of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance in England, and how – in the words of poet Eavan Boland – it ‘now seems urgent, contemporary and necessary’.

Be inspired by the ‘matter of Britain’, the hunts, feasts, battles and storms in the romances of some well-known and lesser-known poets, and take part in some semi-structured exercises to develop your thoughts and ideas. There will be plenty of time to compose something of your own, so bring something to write on and with.

Who:

Adults 16+

When:

10.30am – 4pm
