Venue: Reading Museum
What:
Kelly will discuss where LGBT rights and acceptance is now and look at what might happen as we look forward; what changes can we expect and hope to see?
Wolfenden 60:
Baron John Wolfenden became Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading in 1950. While in this post, he chaired the Wolfenden Committee which produced a report to the government recommending the decriminalisation of homosexuality. As part of its Heritage Lottery Fund-supported Wolfenden 60 project, Reading’s Support U charity presents a series of Saturday talks throughout LGBT History Month, exploring the legacy and impact of the Wolfenden Report 60 years after its publication.
