As part of Reading Walks Festival 2024, explore the heart of medieval Reading under the guidance of Reading Museum’s trained volunteer guides. The tours will focus onto the highlights of the Abbey Quarter, including the Hospitium where medieval pilgrims stayed, the impressive, conserved Reading Abbey ruins and the Abbey Gateway, the grand entrance to the Abbot’s Lodgings which became Queen Elizabeth I’s royal residence. We will explore the fascinating history of Reading Abbey Quarter while enjoying a relaxed walk of this beautiful part of the town.
Each tour lasts 90 minutes and covers an easy distance of about 0.5 miles.
