The year is 1064. In the Royal Palace of Westminster, Edward the Confessor, the King of England since 1042, speaks with his brother-in-law, Harold, Earl of Wessex. After this, Harold, holding a hawk, makes for the south coast with his followers and hunting dogs. They are heading for Bosham, Sussex, Harold’s family estate.
From kings, to bishops, to warriors, and beyond, many different characters appear throughout the Bayeux Tapestry, who were pivotal in the events that unfolded.
