Sea Ice! Weather Systems in the Changing Arctic

Thursday 20th June 2024, 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Venue: Sir John Madejski Art Gallery Reading Museum

Join Prof John Methven from the University of Reading to hear about the Arctic Summer-time Cyclones project. The experiment, based out of Longyearbyen on Svalbard, involved small research airplanes flying through Arctic cyclones taking measurements to investigate the two-way interaction between the cyclones and sea ice.

John Methven is Professor of Atmospheric Dynamics from the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading and lead investigator on the Arctic Summer-time Cyclones project.
