What:

Eleanor Crook, sculptor and lapsed Classicist, will spend the day sculpting surrounded by her work in the ‘In the Company of Monsters’ exhibition. She will demonstrate the art of modelling monsters in wax, with real hair, glass eyes and possibly teeth.

Watch her construct a realistic mythological being and demonstrate the technical tricks and skills behind the bronze sculptures in the exhibition, which have much in common with film and tv special effects. She will show a range of materials and will gladly talk all things monster and all things sculpture as her waxwork Creature comes to life.

This is an opportunity to see rare hand modelling and materials in action and to discuss the exhibition with the artist who will also give a talk at 15:00 - all welcome, all ages, monsters included.
