Our Youth Panel have taken rubbish collected from Reading Festival and transformed it into a thought-provoking pop-up exhibition with interactive elements that welcomes everyone to think about festival waste from a new perspective.
For one day only, this pop-up display in Reading Museum's Welcome Gallery will feature debris and memorabilia left behind from the festival in 2021, chosen by a team of young people to explore narratives around festival waste and environmentalism in the music industry. Come along to see what they have been working on, hear interviews from those involved in the clean-up efforts, and and experience Reading Museum's very own festival campsite!
The material used in this exhibition was kindly donated by the Warren and District Residents Association, who work with Festival Republic on their clean-up scheme.
