Over the coming months we are carrying out essential maintenance to Reading Town Hall including Reading Museum, this may result in disruption to public access and service delivery at times. We will update this page with any closures or changes to access arrangements. Confirmed disruption or closure dates are listed below:
Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th November 2025
The Huntley & Palmer Gallery will be closed for essential works. The rest of the Museum will be open as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th December 2025
The Pantry café will be closed for essential maintenance. The Museum and shop will be open as normal opening hours.
Thursday 25th December 2025 to Thursday 1st January 2026
Reading Museum and Town Hall will be closed as normal over the Christmas and New Year period.
Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd January 2026
Reading Museum and Town Hall will be open as normal opening hours.
Monday 5th January to Saturday 17th January 2026
Reading Museum, Reading Town Hall and The Pantry café will be closed for essential electrical maintenance. The Museum and café will reopen as normal opening hours from Tuesday 20th January 2026.
