Free Inset Events at Reading Museum
We hold regular free teacher training sessions at the Museum or online. We advertise these sessions on this page, through social media channels and via our email contact list. Please do sign up to our teachers email list if you might be interested in any of our events as we will normally promote them by email first. There is a sign up button at the bottom of this page. During these twilight sessions we focus on a variety of topics, for example sessions on Reading Abbey, Victorian topics and prehistory. We take inspiration from the museum's fantastic collection to provide you with a fun learning experience, and an opportunity to learn new techniques that you can use in the classroom.
Please contact us for details of our next event, and please sign up to our email list via the link below.

It was fantastic to gain an insight into what the Reading Museum can offer primary school teachers.

It was really good to be able to handle the contents of the boxes. Very useful and informative!
- Manor Primary
I really enjoyed the session and it has given me ideas that I will use with my class and share with the other members of my team on how to use artefacts.

I have been inspired to develop the study and exploration of Reading and Reading Abbey with KS2 children
- The Hill Primary School
I was not sure what to expect from this training session but it was excellent. It is so good to have simple yet really effective ways of using the museum resources. Cath was very inspiring!
